This year, we proudly celebrate the 75th anniversary of Tecniplast Group, marking our continuous commitment to innovation in the Laboratory Animal Science industry. As we reach this remarkable milestone, we take a moment to reflect on our rich history and look forward to a future filled with excellence.

Founded in 1949 by visionary engineer Carlo Bernardini, Tecniplast began as a small manufacturing company focused on producing plastic technological solutions.  The “Tecniplast” brand name reflects this, combining “tecnologia” (keeping the Italian spelling of “technology”) and plastic.

Our first clients were renowned Italian manufacturing companies of the time, which made Tecniplast envision a bright future ahead: for Olivetti, we produced typewriter ribbons; for Bassani Ticino (now BTicino), we molded plastic components for switches; for Pastorino, we manufactured tool handles; and for Domovar, we supplied plastic components for fridges.

Soon, Tecniplast found its way into manufacturing pioneering plastic cages for research, with a vision and commitment to revolutionize the Laboratory Animal equipment industry. Since then, Tecniplast's history has intertwined with the evolution of Biomedical Research, constantly meeting new frontiers and evolving with the Life Science Industry.

Tecniplast has been constantly growing over the decades, transforming from a small company where a handful of people shared all the tasks necessary to run the business, into a global leader renowned for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology.

But what sets us apart is our deep-rooted family values.

Tecniplast is now managed by Carlo's three sons, Alessandro, Edoardo, and Pietro, and has stayed true to its founding principles while adapting to the ever-evolving industry landscape.

Proudly remaining a family-owned business, the Bernardini family's leadership ensures that our dedication to excellence, innovation, integrity, and personal touch remains at the forefront of our operations.

Throughout our history, our core values and pioneering spirit have in fact remained unchanged.

We prioritize the quality of our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards to support research that advances human and animal health.
