“The Secrets of Mouse Behaviour: Revolutionising Animal Model Research with 24/7 Automated DVC Home-Cage Monitoring” - NEW Webinar 6th June 2023 at 15:00pm

Tecniplast UK is delighted to host a webinar titled “The Secrets of Mouse Behaviour: Revolutionising Animal Model Research with 24/7 Automated DVC Home-Cage Monitoring” on Tuesday the 6th of June 2023 at 15:00.

This webinar focuses on how to use DVC Home-Cage Monitoring to identify and analyse mouse activity patterns, social interactions, and behaviours in real time, allowing for early intervention and better study outcomes. Hear from specialists in the field who have successfully incorporated DVC home-cage monitoring in their study and discover the benefits to their studies and animal welfare.

Frederick Odun-Ayo, Ph.D, Product Manager – DIGILAB Tecniplast UK, will be welcoming two well-renowned speakers from the industry to present on the subject:

Focus: Why Light Matters for Healthy Physiology and Behaviour

Stuart Peirson Ph.D | Professor of Circadian Neuroscience, University of Oxford

Stuart Peirson is a Professor of Circadian Neuroscience and Deputy Director of the Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institution (SCNi) at the University of Oxford. He completed his PhD in Neuroscience at the Institute of Ophthalmology UCL before moving to Imperial College to work as a postdoctoral researcher and then lecturer. In 2006 he moved to the University of Oxford as a Senior Research Scientist and then Associate Professor. His work focuses on characterising the signalling pathways mediating the effects of light on physiology and behaviour and how these processes are disrupted by abnormal light exposure and disease states. As part of this work, he has developed several novel non-invasive methods of measuring mouse physiology and behaviour.

Focus: A DVC Story: Our Collection in Ten Parts

Joanna Moore, PhD FIAT | Investigator and Named Information Officer, GSK

Joanna has worked with laboratory animals for over 25 years in a range of roles across different sectors. She has always had a strong focus on welfare and enrichment. In 2018 she was awarded a PhD in Animal Sciences, and more recently, she has been working with Home Cage Monitoring, primarily with the Digital Ventilated Cage and remote camera monitoring, to utilise the capabilities of these systems in terms of their utility as a scientific, husbandry and welfare tool for mice.

James Kennedy | Biostatistician, Research Statistics Rx, GSK

James is a biostatistician who has supported pre-clinical research within GSK for 2.5 years. Having supported studies that use home cage monitoring technology, James’ work covers a range of research areas including immunology, oncology, novel human genetics and animal welfare.
