Tecniplast UK has appointed Andy Humes as Managing Director, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the company.

Andy brings more than 25 years’ experience in the Life Sciences and the Healthcare sector, with a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record as a pivotal member of the management team.

He was previously General Manager at Leica Biosystems, a cancer diagnostics company which provides complete solutions to laboratories around the world from patient biopsy to diagnosis.

Andy succeeds David Spillane, the founder of Tecniplast UK, who gave 23 years of devoted service and played a key role in the success of Tecniplast UK by defining the company’s overall strategy and vision. David Spillane will be stepping down as Managing Director on February 14th, 2020; he will continue as a Tecniplast UK Board Member and Chairman.

Andy will join the Global Tecniplast Family based in Varese near Milan; he will play a significant role ensuring the UK & Ireland Life Sciences and Pharma markets continue to be supported.

Based here in the UK, Andy will lead the highly experienced senior management team and together they will take Tecniplast forward to the next exciting chapter as the company continues to develop the highest quality innovative products, with the passion that’s seen  Tecniplast become a global market leader.
