Tecniplast is pleased to announce the latest addition joining the Emerald family, the NEW Emerat ER1050.

Carl Breacker, Tecniplast UK Business Manager, talks through the capabilities of the NEW EMERAT ER1050 and what it can offer the industry. 

"The ER1050 features an increased floor area (1050cm²), compared to the previous Greenline GR900. This additional 150cm² allows for the cage to accommodate an extra animal, therefore reducing the overall cages required to carry out specific studies and reducing the footprint.

Operator experience is also maintained, with the key distinctive features the Emerald Line has to offer. The PATENTED SmartTop provides the best ergonomic solution for operators, simplifying access to animals while ensuring the best aseptic techniques. SmarTop optimises ergonomics and safety as it facilitates cage change processes and its unique design minimises the risk of cross-contamination between cages and reduces the space required in the change station. 

The daily health checks of animals are a critical and fundamental part of researchers' and technicians tasks. The innovative design provides operators with clear and unrestricted visibility inside the cage, thereby reducing the need to disturb the cages and animals during daily checks by having to partially, or fully remove the cages. This is achieved thanks to the Tecniplast PATENTED cage sealing design, combined with the latch-free locking system moulded into the cage base and top. Simply place the top on the cage to achieve perfect sealing every time!

In addition to all the benefits mentioned above, the ER1050 is available in 12 different rack configurations, ranging from 21 cage places to 80 cage places. So, whether you have unlimited space, or you have restricted space available and need to maximise cage numbers, we’ve got you covered.

ER1050 isn’t only available for rats as you have the ability to also house mice or hamsters. The addition of a dedicated wire bar lid will soon be available which will allow you to house increased numbers of animals per cage."
